Welcome to The Forest Kitchen — a soul-fed jungle lunch hosted twice a month at Choco Tour Costa Rica. Led by Chef Alex, a renowned chef who has prepared banquets for diplomatic consulates in Argentina and Costa Rica, this experience brings culinary mastery back to the earth — with open fire, local ingredients, and the wisdom of tradition.

What to Expect:

Tucked deep in our lush jungle, The Bird’s Nest offers two private jungle bungalows designed for rest, reconnection, and rainforest immersion.

Wake to birdsong. Sip cacao beneath the trees. Walk forest trails, or simply do nothing at all. Whether reserved solo, as a couple, or together with friends, this is your sanctuary in the heart of nature.

When to Visit Choco Tour Costa Rica?

We’re open year-round and excited to host you whenever it fits your schedule! Here’s what you need to know:

Tour Times:

We recommend booking in advance as spots are limited for each session. Specific tour times will be provided upon reservation.

Best Days to Visit:

Any day is a great day for chocolate! However, weekends and holidays tend to book up quickly, so plan ahead if visiting during these times.

Weather Considerations:

Costa Rica’s dry season (December to April) offers sunny days, while the green season (May to November) brings lush surroundings and occasional rain—perfect for a rainforest adventure!

No matter when you visit, you’re guaranteed a magical experience filled with chocolate, nature, and unforgettable memories!

What Should I Bring to Choco Tour Costa Rica?

We want your experience to be as enjoyable and comfortable as possible! Here’s a quick list of items to bring along:

Comfortable Clothing: Lightweight clothes are ideal for the warm weather.

Sturdy Footwear: Closed-toe shoes or comfortable sandals are recommended for exploring our forest and waterfall path.

Swimwear & Towel: If you plan to take a dip in the river ponds or enjoy the waterfall.

Sun Protection: Sunglasses, and a hat to stay protected during sunny days. Note: sunscreens are toxic to the aquatic life so please use sparingly and with this in mind.

Insect Repellent: A must-have for any tropical adventure! Note: use on your self and not on our pollinating insects.

Camera/Phone: Capture the memories of your chocolate-making experience and the beauty of our property.

Reusable Water Bottle: Help us stay eco-friendly by bringing your own bottle—we have refill stations available.

The Choco Tour is a 90-minute immersive journey, taking you from the cacao tree to crafting your very own chocolate masterpiece.

Dry Season: 4:00 PM

How do I get to Choco Tour Costa Rica?

We’re excited to welcome you! Here’s how to find us based on where you’re coming from:

From San José:

Take Route 27 towards Orotina. Once in Orotina, follow Route 131 from San Mateo to Esparza. After crossing the third bridge, turn right onto Romakri Road. Look for the small yellow bridge, and just beyond it, you’ll see a green fence—that’s us!

From La Fortuna:

Head towards San Ramón and then take Route 1 (Interamericana) to Esparza. From Esparza, follow Route 131 towards San Mateo. After passing through Jesús María, you’ll approach a bridge at Río Surubres. Before the bridge, turn left onto Romakri Road. Cross the small yellow bridge, and you’ll see a green fence—welcome to Choco Tour!

From the Pacific Coast:

Take Route 27 to Orotina, then follow Route 131 from San Mateo to Esparza. After the third bridge, turn right onto Romakri Road. Cross the small yellow bridge, and just beyond it, you’ll find a green fence marking our entrance.
